I met Megan and Trevor for Megan’s maternity session just a few weeks before sweet baby Joelle arrived!

I was helping to photograph a wedding when I got the message from Megan that her little one had arrived. I could not wait to meet and photograph this adorable little girl’s in-home newborn session!

When I arrived at their home off the country roads in Dunnville, Joelle was peacefully asleep. I always feel terrible having to move newborns when they look so peaceful. Joelle didn’t make a fuss though! She was happy in mom and dad’s arms when we started the session in the living room. Plenty of cuddles were had and even Mitsy; the family pup, got to join in eventually even though she isn’t normally allowed on the couch!

We moved into the nursery afterward. It was so beautiful and bright! I loved the little details, especially the framed birth information!

From there we went to the master bedroom and the family had some more time to just adore and snuggle their little one!

Megan showed me the small wooden crib they had in their bedroom that was past down through the family. Joelle looked so cozy in it! I’m so happy I could capture something so special to their family that I wouldn’t have been able to do if I didn’t photograph in their home. The personal aspects of an in-home lifestyle session are one of the biggest reason I love this style of photography so much.
